Jonny Wilson

I was born in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Falmouth, Maine, where I discovered my passion for running. I earned the opportunity to return to my roots and compete in Division I Cross-Country and Track & Field for the University of Richmond, helping the Spiders to the program’s first ever Atlantic 10 Conference Championship title and earn a bid to its first ever bid to the Division I National Championship, where we finished 24th overall.

Since graduating college in 2011 I have been competing in elite races across the country, focusing on longer distances from 8k to half-marathon, and passionately trained towards qualifying for the 2016 US Olympic Trials in the marathon. At the 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia Half-Marathon I ran my personal best of 1:05:09, coming up just 9 seconds short of reaching the Olympic Trials ‘B’ standard. I am a 2x winner of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half-Marathon (2015 & 2016) and course record holder of the Maine Half-Marathon (1:06:37.71, 2016).

I work full-time as an online running coach for McMillan Running CO., LLC, empowering others to pursue their passions and chase down their dreams. As for my own running, I now have my sights set on qualifying for the 2020 US Olympic Trials in the marathon.

I first heard of Endurance Shield after seeing a tweet by Sara Hall who I met training out in Flagstaff, AZ and decided to test it out in 2014 due to her high praise of it. Training at 7000ft altitude wearing sunscreen when running as well as just in everyday life is essential due to the increased intensity of UV-B light exposure at higher elevation.

From the first time I tired Endurance Shield I was hooked! It goes on so easily and quickly, absorbing instantly into my skin, which is perfect for when I'm to run or workout and want to get right out the door. It has a great, fruity scent and doesn't leak or drip down my face or body in a stream of bright white when I start to sweat like other sunscreens. It's truly amazing for endurance athletes and anyone spending time outside and I have no doubt it will help protect and save my skin for life!
